Home decoration ideas can be found everywhere starting from magazines to online pages. The only drawback is that each house is built in a unique way and needs an individual touch according to owner's tastes. More than that one thing that suits one house, will not necessarily suit many other places. Hence I am putting together this list of ideas that will give you guidance on what will work with your place without restricting your creativity.

Make a mind map of what you would like

This is the simplest step. Most of us have an image in our head of the kind of house that we picture ourselves living in whenever we will be able to afford it in life. Some people like contemporary houses, others like places with a more traditional touch. There are apartment lovers and then there are some who want to build mansions. Moving on with the interior, once you have a clear picture in your mind, it will be easier to guide a decorator too.

Don't be scared of paint jobs

Many people are so scared of experimenting when it comes to paint jobs of their houses. Most of us like to stay within our comfort zone. The idea of doing something even slightly out of routine scares us. That is a wrong approach when it comes to paint jobs. The key is to look at each room individually and play with colors and patterns. Gone are the days when one big can of paint was enough for a room and you were done with a single color. These days you can go for various designs and textures too.

Sometimes go beyond your favorites

So we know that most females prefer pink for their rooms. But there is a world beyond pink too. At one point in time all kids bedrooms were the same kind. A slather of pink for girls and a coat of blue everything for boys. The bedsheets, rug, paintings on the wall, all had the same color scheme. The room would become an eyesore. Nowadays people experiment with themes and ideas. Use your favorites sparingly so that the room does not look overdone.

Lighting for the final touch

Have you wondered why certain rooms look absolutely horrendous in white light? Some look extremely dimly lit in daylight bulbs. Lighting of a room needs to be totally in sync with the color scheme of the room. It should be such that the room looks fresh and inviting and not cold and scary.

These are some tips from the top of my mind that I have observed in my trips to various newly decorated homes. Stay in touch with our home organizing pieces to get more ideas for your home.
