Nihad Ali and Anjum Shazad were arrested by National Accountability Bureau (KPK) for tricking the local people into investing money in their ‘illegal’ housing scheme. The accused promised the people facilities such as play grounds, community halls, schools etc but these were not built. Instead, the land was turned into residential and commercial plots. The administration of the scheme also did not obtain any no-objection certificates from the authorities. The accused persons would be brought before the accountability court of Peshawar for further investigation.
